New Delhi: A fire broke out on Monday morning in a building in the heart of Delhi's commercial district of Connaught place.
Huge swathes of smoke plumed the sky as fire engulfed the on the first floor of Hamilton building, which hosts a computer training centre.
Officials said the fire was brought under control after 15 fire tenders were pressed into service. Latest reports said the fire was under control but firemen were still inside the building.
No casualties were reported as the computer centre was yet to open for the day.
However, smoke entered the gym next door, where around 60 people were working out.
They were taken to the terrace and evacuated through a neighboring building later.
Officials said shops on the ground floor, which include a Starbucks, were not affected by the fire.
