New Delhi:
Commuters had to face a harrowing time this afternoon when the Delhi Metro developed some problem in its track circuit on the Yellow line - Jehangirpuri to Huda City centre route - for about an hour.
Services on the Huda City Centre to Jehangirpuri route (line 2) were disrupted around 1 pm when the track circuit between Qutub Minar and Saket metro station developed a problem and it could only be resolved by 1.43 pm, a DMRC spokesperson said.
The snag left hundreds of passengers stranded on the stations en-route as trains were delayed by over 30 minutes and services were most affected on the Green Park station.
Namita, a regular commuter who was stranded at Ghitorni station said, "the trains were delayed by around 40 minutes and overcrowded, causing inconvenience. There was no space to even stand in the train."
Metro services on the Yellow line were affected between Sultanpur and HUDA city centre in August, when a foreign wire entangled in a section of the overhead electricity (OHE) wire near Guru Dronacharya Metro station.
