New Delhi: Delhi Police today picked up two more close aides of Somnath Bharti for questioning them on the whereabouts of the AAP MLA, who is evading arrest in a case of attempt to murder and domestic violence filed by his wife.
Police had picked up his brother Loknath Bharti and private secretary in this regard last evening. They were allowed to go later in the night.
"We are questioning the duo picked up this morning regarding Somnath Bharti's whereabouts. Loknath and the other person were released last night itself," Joint Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Dependra Pathak said.
Mr Pathak said that around 12 people, including the aforementioned four, are under police scanner for allegedly "harbouring" Somnath Bharti who is evading arrest.
"Several police teams are raiding places across NCR like Faridabad and Gurgaon. The AAP worker who sheltered Bharti last time when he was evading arrest has also been called for questioning," the officer said.
The AAP MLA faces arrest following the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by Delhi High Court in a case of attempt to murder and domestic violence lodged against him by his estranged wife, Lipika Mitra.
