Son of DTC Driver Killed in Road Rage Incident to Get Government Job

The Cabinet has also decided to bear the medical expenses of Mr Kumar's wife, the official said adding that her treatment would be done at either or empanelled hospital as per DTC rule.

New Delhi: The Delhi government has approved the transport department's proposal to provide job to the son of a DTC bus driver who was brutally killed in a road rage incident in West Delhi's Mundka area in May.

The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi today.

The Cabinet has also given its nod to other monetary benefits to the family of Ashok Kumar who was beaten to death allegedly by a youth in broad daylight on May 10.

After the incident, the family of Mr Kumar had met the Chief Minister and were assured all possible support.

"Delhi Cabinet has approved the proposal of transport department to provide a job to Ajay, son of Ashok Kumar. Ajay will be given employment in the clerical cadre to the post of junior clerk in DTC on compassionate grounds," a senior government official said.

The 42-year-old DTC bus driver was beaten to death allegedly by a 22-year-old youth after the bus grazed his bike at Mundka area in West Delhi which had led to a massive protest by employees of the government-run agency.
