New Delhi:
Five persons have been arrested in connection with the Rs. 5.25 crore heist in south Delhi on Friday, police said today.
"We have arrested two more accused and recovered 85 lakhs," Joint Commissioner of Police Vivek Gogia said. "With this we have recovered 2.40 crores in total."
Umesh, the 40-year-old ex-employee of the cash replenishment agency was involved in the heist and was among the arrested, Mr Gogia said.
Five persons have been arrested so far and four are still absconding, Mr Gogia added.
Police had yesterday recovered over Rs. 2.36 crore out of the money looted from a cash van of a cash replenishment agency in upscale Defence Colony on Friday afternoon, after a security guard who resisted the five robbers was shot. The guard succumbed to the bullet injury.
