New Delhi:
A speeding BMW car rammed into a Renault Duster before breaking through a colony's boundary wall and venturing into the lawn of a house in Sarojini Nagar of South Delhi in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The occupants of both cars escaped with minor injuries, police said.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against Mr Aryan, who was driving the BMW, at Sarojini Nagar police station after initial investigations revealed that he was speeding.
According to the police, the Renault Duster was being driven by Mr Aadil Amin, a final-year MBBS student at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College of the Safdarjung Hospital. He lives in the college hostel.
"Amin was driving towards Leela hotel in Chanakyapuri when the BMW coming from the opposite direction lost control near the traffic signal of Sarojini Nagar's Railway Colony and rammed into Amin's Duster. It then hit the boundary wall and entered into someone's lawns. The duster was badly damaged in the incident," said a police official.
Mr Aryan and his lady companion were taken to AIIMS trauma centre for treatment while Mr Amin went to Safdarjung Hospital.
"They were discharged after being given first aid," the official confirmed.
According to the official, both drivers tested positive for alcohol.
