New Delhi:
Senior Supreme Court lawyer Harish Salve has written to the Delhi Police commissioner, asking him to put a stop to the massive traffic disruptions in the city caused by "VIP" movements within a week or face legal action.
In his letter to Neeraj Kumar on Saturday, Mr Salve said, "The Delhi Police violates the constitutional rights guaranteed to us, citizens of India, who reside in this city, by indiscriminately closing key arterial roads, without any prior notice, to facilitate the movement of 'VIPs' - who are for the most those elected to office to serve us...I demand an assurance from you that you will stop this unwholesome practice failing which I propose to take this matter to court."
