Delhi:
A class IX student of a prominent school in South Delhi allegedly hired goons to beat up his classmate after an argument over a petty issue.
A senior police official said that the victim Monu (name changed) studies in Class IX in Birla Vidya Niketan Public School. "On February 16, Monu had an argument with his classmate Sushma (name changed) over seating arrangement.
Sushma's brother, Shekhar (name changed) who also studies in the same class, threatened Monu that he would have him beaten up by some hired goons. "On February 17, Monu was brutally assaulted by four persons. He suffered injuries on his face and nose and was admitted to GM Modi Hospital," said a police official. An FIR under section 326/34 was lodged in this connection.
"Police arrested one accused who was identified as Tejasvi. His father works with Ministry of External Affairs. Police will take action against the classmate too if he is found guilty of hiring the goons," the official said.
