New Delhi:
A Sub-Inspector was crushed to death by an unknown vehicle in north Delhi this morning when he was on his way to a police post to take over duty.
The incident was reported from Civil Lines at around 6:40 am and the victim has been identified as Devender Singh, who was in his thirties.
He was on his motorcycle going towards Kishanganj Police post near Tees Hazari Court where he had duty.
Police is yet to trace the vehicle and the driver as there is no eyewitness to the incident.
Some passerby informed police about Singh lying on the road. He died on the spot and his body was sent for post mortem.
A native of Muzzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, he lived in Civil Lines with his wife and two children.
A case under sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) has been registered.
