It was a chilly but pleasant morning for Delhiites as the minimum temperature settled within the normal range and the Sun shone bright as the day progressed.
The low was recorded at 7.5 degree Celsius, up by 1.9 degree Celsius from yesterday's 5.6 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours was recorded at 22.7 degree Celsius, one degree above normal.
The early morning was chilly due to cold winds and a light fog cover. However, the chill and the fog dissipated as the sun came out in full force.
The Weatherman has predicted mist tomorrow morning with temperature oscillating between seven and 21 degree Celsius.
The capital had been witnessing dense fog over the past week but the last four days were devoid of dense fog.
Last month saw the minimum temperature come down to 2.9 degree Celsius on Christmas morning, the lowest of the season so far.
In the past 11 years, except for 2010, the month of January has recorded the lowest minimum temperature on January eight of 2006 when the mercury had dipped to 0.2 degree Celsius.
The record lowest minimum for the month was on January 16, 1935 when mercury touched minus 0.6 degree Celsius while the highest maximum was 32.5 degree Celsius on January 28, 2004.
