It was sunny Monday morning in Delhi and the sky will be clear in the day, the Met Office said.
"The sky will remain mainly clear. The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 39 degrees Celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
The minimum temperature Monday morning was 27.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 64 percent.
Sunday's maximum temperature settled at 38.2 degrees Celsius - five notches above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was 28 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
