A software engineer was beaten up with iron rods and robbed off his cash by three unidentified men in East Delhi, police said today.
The incident took place in Geeta Colony late last night when 28-year-old Mohit Shetty was on way to get the punctured tyre of his motorcycle fixed.
Mr Shetty and his wife were returning home from a friend's place when their motorcycle had a punctured tyre.
He called one of his friends to take his wife home and he was taking his two-wheeler to get his tyre fixed when he was attacked by the three men.
"The trio thrashed him with an iron rod. They snatched his chain and Rs 10,000 and fled. The motorcycle was damaged in the incident," a police official said.
Mr Shetty gave a call to police by using the mobile of a passerby. As the incident took place on the border of North and East Delhi districts, initially there was dispute over which police station will register the case.
The issue was resolved and a case of robbery and hurt was registered Kotwali police station in North Delhi.
