Technical snag hits Delhi Metro commuters

New Delhi: Hundreds of passengers had a difficult time in Delhi on Monday as trains on Delhi Metro's Blueline going towards Dwarka Sector 21 slowed down due to a technical snag at Dwarka metro station.

A Delhi Metro official said that at around 5.30 p.m., "there was a track circuit problem at Dwarka metro station, due to which trains coming from Noida and Vaishali to Dwarka were slowed down."

This resulted in huge crowds at Rajiv Chowk in Connaught Place and other metro stations along the line.

"Rajiv Chowk station was overcrowded and trains were running at a gap of nearly six minutes, while they normally run every two minutes," said Siddharth, a regular commuter.

The fault was rectified around 6.45 pm.
