New Delhi: A 17-year-old drowned in a swimming pool here, police said on Monday, adding that the owner of the swimming pool has been arrested.
Raja, resident of west Delhi's Janta Enclave area, drowned in the pool around 2.30 pm on Sunday.
The 12th class student, who did not know how to swim, used to go to the unauthorised pool to learn swimming.
"Lack of life-saving equipment and carelessness of the pool owner led to the boy's death," said a police officer.
The pool owner, Satish Kumar, 45, has been arrested.
