New Delhi:
A 17-year-old youth bled to death after he was stabbed on his thigh by his stepfather in Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi district on Tuesday. The victim was identified as Deepak and the accused as Veer Singh. A senior police official said Veer had asked Deepak to do some chore, which he had refused.
"When Deepak refused, the accused stabbed him. No one took him to the hospital and he died due to excessive bleeding. We have arrested Veer and a case of murder has been lodged against him," he said. The police received a call in this regard around 7 pm on Tuesday. A PCR van reached the spot and found Deepak lying in pool of blood. He was immediately taken to the RML hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
A police officer said Deepak's mother Asha married Veer after her first husband abandoned her nearly 12 years ago. Since then, he had been looking after the family. They often fought but things went out of hand on Tuesday.
"Veer was drunk. He asked Deepak to do some work for him but he refused. They then started arguing with each other. Suddenly, Veer fished out a knife, stabbed Deepak and fled form the spot. Asha called the police after an hour of the incident. Veer was arrested from the area later on," added the police officer.
