New Delhi: Traffic police nabbed a 29-year-old man when he was escaping allegedly after snatching a bag of DU girl containing cash and important documents near DDU hospital in west Delhi.
Nikki allegedly snatched the bag from DU student, Bharti, near DDU hospital around 6.30 pm on Monday, police said.
The girl raised an alarm alerting the Traffic personnel including ASI Dinesh Kumar, and constables Ram Singh and Sandeep, who caught the man after a short chase, said Rajendra Singh Sagar, DCP Traffic(western range).
A crowd gathered on the spot also tried to thrash the snatcher but the cops saved him and handed him over to police at Hari Nagar police station.
The bag containing cash and important documents was restored to the girl.
The accused has a past criminal record. He occasionally works as driver of Gramin Sewa and was not working presently, added the officer.
