New Delhi:
A 15-year-old Class X student was gang-raped by three people, including a minor, in east Delhi, police said on Wednesday. Two of them have been arrested, while the third is on the run.
The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when the girl was on her way to her aunt's house in Mayur Vihar Phase III.
"Around 100 metres from her house, a 16-year-old boy, who is the brother of the girl's sister's friend, offered her a lift on his motorcycle. Knowing him, the victim went on his bike but instead of dropping her at her aunt's place, the boy took her to a flat in Ghazipur on the pretext of some urgent work, where two of his associates were already present," said a senior police officer.
His associates, in their early twenties, were identified as Bheem Nath and Naushad.
The victim told the police that the three locked her up in a room for at least three hours and took turns to rape her. They then threatened her of dire consequences if she reported the incident to anyone.
Terrified, the girl went home and did not reveal her ordeal to anyone. However, after a few hours, she told her parents, who called the police.
A medical examination confirmed rape, the officer said.
While the boy and Bheem Nath were arrested on Tuesday night, Naushad is still at large.
