New Delhi: Voters in two villages of the capital today "boycotted" the Delhi municipal polls protesting against authorities' apathy towards them in providing civic amenities like proper roads and drainage.
Khera village in Kazipur area boycotted the elections.
The polling booth wore a deserted look during the day.
A number of people were seen outside the polling booth with banners announcing boycott of the polls.
"For the last 30 years, nothing was done in the area. Candidates came here seeking votes but after winning they never returned. See for yourself the condition of roads or drainage," a local said.
Locals say there are 1,280 voters from the village.
"There is no difference between parties. This is our decision. We took the decision after a village panchayat. There is no dispensary, no facilities. Why should we vote?" another villager asked.
There was a boycott call by voters in a village in Alipur also protesting against insufficient amenities in the locality.
