New Delhi: Warmer conditions prevailed on the second day of the new year as the minimum temperature today settled at 7.7 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal for the season.

Early morning hours were marked by moderate fog in many parts of the city with visibility being 800 meters at 5.30 am which reduced to 700 meters at 8.30 am, a MeT department official said.

Relative humidity was recorded at 97 percent at 8.30 am he said.

The official predicted partly cloudy skies for the day with the maximum temperature expected to settle at around 24 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 24.1 degrees Celsius yesterday, while the minimum was recorded at 6.6 degrees.
