When Harsh Vardhan, BJP's chief ministerial candidate, came to the rescue as doctor saab
New Delhi: BJP leaders and journalists today had a chance to see Harsh Vardhan the doctor in action, as the BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi checked on a party worker who had abruptly collapsed during a press conference.

Harsh Vardhan, who is a practising ENT specialist, rushed to help a man who fell on the raised platform in the BJP's media room where top party leaders, including Arun Jaitley, were seated.

It was just exhaustion, the doctor-turned-politician pronounced minutes later, and the man later walked out of the briefing room. The meeting resumed after the brief interruption.

A former Delhi health minister, Harsh Vardhan was credited with a successful campaign to immunize children against polio. The BJP has repeatedly pitched him as the doctor who will 'cure Delhi'.

The BJP leaders had called the press meet to announce that for the next 10 days, in the run up to the December 4 assembly polls in the capital, they would take up different issues concerning Delhi.
