BJP leaders and journalists today had a chance to see Harsh Vardhan the doctor in action, as the BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi checked on a party worker who had abruptly collapsed during a press conference.
Harsh Vardhan, who is a practising ENT specialist, rushed to help a man who fell on the raised platform in the BJP's media room where top party leaders, including Arun Jaitley, were seated.
It was just exhaustion, the doctor-turned-politician pronounced minutes later, and the man later walked out of the briefing room. The meeting resumed after the brief interruption.
A former Delhi health minister, Harsh Vardhan was credited with a successful campaign to immunize children against polio. The BJP has repeatedly pitched him as the doctor who will 'cure Delhi'.
