A 33-year-old woman allegedly killed her husband in front of her two young children in their home in Delhi and dumped his body in a sewage tank.
The woman has told the police that her husband, a driver employed with a private firm, would drink excessively and beat her every day.
On Wednesday, she allegedly strangled him as her 10 year-old daughter and 7-year-old son watched.
She first stuffed the body in a cupboard, and then dumped it in a sewage tank below their house in Najafgarh in south west Delhi.
Yesterday evening, the police found the man's rotting body after neighbours complained of a stench.
When the police arrived at the house, the woman reportedly confessed.
