New Delhi:
A woman was beaten to death in south-west Delhi allegedly by her husband for dowry.
Sumita, 32, was found dead at around 9:15 am today by her son six-year-old son at their residence in JJ Colony near R.K. Puram.
Preliminary probe has revealed that the victim came back home drunk on Saturday evening and fell down there. Sunita's landlord took her inside her home. Police say that she died on Sunday evening and that her body was kept on ice. Her husband, 34-year-old Vinod Kumar, informed police today morning that she committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.
Sunita's autopsy report has revealed that she died of internal haemorrhage caused due to beating.
Police have arrested Vinod and have booked him for murder.
The victim married Vinod, who works as an area manager with a private security company, in 2004. Her family alleges that Vinod used to beat her for not fulfilling his demands for dowry.
