New Delhi:
The 51-year-old wife of a Rashtrapati Bhavan employee committed suicide by hanging herself in the servants' quarters, police said on Thursday.
Srimaya, a Nepali national, was found hanging inside the washroom in Rashtrapati Bhavan's servants quarters around 12 p.m. on Thursday.
"She had been facing skin problems for some time. She apparently was depressed over her health condition, which might have led her to take such an extreme step," said a senior police official.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
Her husband Aash Bahadur has been working in Rashtrapati Bhavan for 20 years as an attendant.
