New Delhi:
The Centre today advised Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to work as per the Constitution while discharging their respective responsibilities.
"Delhi is a Union Territory. We all have to understand that Delhi is not a full-fledged state. The Lieutenant-Governor has certain constitutional duties and responsibilities.
"The Chief Minister also has certain duties and responsibilities. We all have to work under a set-up which is there in the Constitution," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told reporters in the national capital.
The Union Minister's comments came after reports that Mr Jung and Mr Kejriwal were on a tussle after the Lieutenant-Governor directed Delhi Ministers and top officials to route all important files through him as per Constitutional framework and laid down procedures.
Mr Jung's order came after reports that Mr Kejriwal has asked his Ministers and senior officials of Delhi government not to bother the LG's office by sending files to him.
Mr Rijiju, however, refused to elaborate further.
