The newly laid campus of Pandit Raghunath Murmu government medical college at Baripada, Rangamatia is nearly complete with classrooms, hostel, laboratories and academic buildings and is all set to welcome its first batch of students in the next month.

New Delhi: The newly laid campus of Pandit Raghunath Murmu government medical college at Baripada, Rangamatia is nearly complete with classrooms, hostel, laboratories and academic buildings and is all set to welcome its first batch of students in the next month. As of now 81 students have taken admission and rest of the seats will be filled in the counselling scheduled for 16 August 2017. The other ongoing projects in the college is likely to be completed in three months, as told by Odisha Health Minister Pratap Jena to reporters. He further added that an amount of Rs 50 crore would be spent to procure state-of-the-art gadgets and equipment.

Announcing this today, Odisha's Health Minister Pratap Jena told reporters that an allocation of Rs 50 crore has already been made for procurement of CT Scan, MRI, dialysis and other equipment for the medical college. A multi speciality complex comprising intensive care unit (ICU), ventilators, chambers for consultation with doctors is coming up in the medical college hospital  premises, said the minister.

While faculties, superintendent and dean have joined their duties, appointment of 110 nursing personnel, 20 radiology technicians and 40 laboratory technicians is under process and would be completed within a month. The health minister, who was on a tour of Baripada, visited the medical college and hospital campus and interacted top officials.
