Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will carry out digital evaluation of Intermediate exam answer sheets. The decision has been taken to check irregularities during evaluation process. As per PTI report, digital evaluation will be done for Patna and Vaishali initially, as number of examinees is higher in these two districts in comparison to others in the State. The 'state plus two' examination will see a major change in the evaluation process in future. In a press release, BSEB Chairman has stated that in the new system of evaluation answer sheets will be scanned after barcoding and then sent to the centre through a centralized server.
It was further mentioned in the press release that with digital evaluation, there will be no chance of error in totaling of marks.
Bihar Board had followed this procedure for evaluating answer papers of compartmental exam last year.
The system would check anomalies during evaluation process especially writing answers in the copies after examinations were held. The Board has conducted digital evaluation of answer sheets of compartmental examination last year.
Holding cheating-free state plus two examination is a challenge for the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) as the toppers scam last year had brought bad name for Bihar.
In 2016, Ruby Roy who topped in Arts in plus two exam, in a media interview pronounced her subject as "Prodikal science" instead of political science which she had said was related to cooking.
A scrutiny had highlighted bungling in preparing merit list in science stream too in exchange for money.
The Intermediate Examination has already begun on February 14 and will end on February 25.
