DU has made no major changes in the third cut off list

Delhi University released its third cut off list late last evening for admission to the 2017-18 academic session. Despite the speculations, there has not been a substantial difference in the cut offs. The cut off for most of the top courses have remained in the range of 85-95%. Most of the top colleges have brought down their cut off by 0.5-1%. Even in the third list, only courses like BA Hindi, BA Sanskrit, and BA Programme are within reach of students who have scored less than 85% marks.
SGTB Khalsa college which had set some of the highest cut off marks this season, brought down the cut off mark for BA Economics (Honors) from 96.75% in second list to 95.75% in third list. The cut off for BA English (Honors) has dropped from 96.75% to 95%. The cut off for BA Hindi (Honors) has dropped drastically from 94% to 82.75%.
Hindu college has kept the cut off for BA Economics (Honors) for general candidates without any change at 97.25% . The cut off for reserved category candidates has lowered by 1-2%. Admission to BA Political Science (Honors) has closed for all other categories except for those in PwD category and Kashmiri Migrants.
At Sri Venketeswara college, the cut off for BA Economics (Honors) has gone down only by 0.25% from 96.75% to 96.5%. The cut off for BA Political Science (Honors) has gone down from 95.75% to 95%. The cut off for BA Programme has decreased by 1% to 93.5%. The cut off for Science courses have also gone down marginally. The cut off for B.Sc. Electronics (Honors) has lowered by 2% from 94.33% to 92.33%.

The admission for BA Economics (Honors) at LSR had closed in the second cut off for general category students. However, in the third cut off the admission has opened again and the cut off has been set at 97.5%.
KMC has closed admission to five of the ten B.Sc. courses on offer for general candidates. For other courses the drop in cut off is marginal. The cut off for B.Sc. Chemistry has dropped down from 95.33% to 95%. The cut off for B.Sc. Mathematics has dropped from 96.25% to 95.5%.
An overall analysis of the cut off reveals that for students with marks less than 85% saving grace are honors courses in Hindi, Sanskrit or BA Programme in off-campus colleges.
