GATE 2018 Registration: Two Updates Candidates Should Know During Application @ Gate.iitg.ac.in

GATE Registration 2018 is set to conclude on October 5, ie, tomorrow and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the official organisor of the exam has published two major updates on the official website of the exam. According to the updates, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 organisors have said that, if the status of a candidate's application says 'under scrutiny', the candidate need not worry about the GATE 2018 application form. It also said the mandatory verification of email address and the mobile number is relaxed now. It also asked the candidates to submit their GATE 2018 application and to proceed to make the payment before the due date.
The GATE 2018 organisors have earlier notified that there will not be any extension for the online application deadline.
GATE 2018 registration will be closed tomorrow
"If the status of your application is "Under Scrutiny", you need not worry. Wait till the scrutiny team processes your application," said an update from the GATE 2018 website.
The update also said that, only those GATE 2018 candidates whose applications need to be rectified in photo/signature/supporting documents, will be contacted by email and SMS.
"The scrutiny process will continue even after the application portal is closed," said the update.
GATE 2018: Mandatory verification of email address and mobile number
As part of the GATE 2018 registration, another update from the exam organisors said that the mandatory verification of email address and mobile number is relaxed now.
"Due to last minute rush, the mandatory verification of email and mobile number (before submitting the GATE application form) is relaxed. You will be able to submit the application form now without verifying the email address and mobile number. Also make the payment before due date. However, you need to verify the email and mobile number later by login to GOAPS," said the update from GATE 2018 official portal.
"Submit the application and proceed to make payment before due date," it asked the GATE 2018 candidates.
