Goa Government Commences Laptop Distribution Under Cyberage Scheme

On the occasion of Children's Day, Goa Government commenced the distribution of laptops as part of its Cyberage Student Scheme. On November 14, the laptops were distributed to class 11th students who had applied for the scheme. The scheme was started back in 2002 and since then has been utilized to make students in Goa more tech savvy and prepare them for the competitive world. The laptops were given to the students by Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Goa Chief MInister tweeted yesterday to announce the commencement of the scheme for teh academic session 2017-18.
The scheme is still open for applications from class 11 students of both aided and un-aided Higher Secondary Schools from Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational Studies. The application forms should be submitted with the Directorate of Education, Planning Section, Computer Cell before 4:30 pm on December 5, 2017.
The application will be accepted only in the prescribed format which is available on the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa website. All such class 11 students who have not availed the benefits of the scheme earlier are eligible for the scheme this year.
For students from aided-schools the application fee is Rs. 1000 and for students from un-aided schools, the application fee is Rs. 2000. The students should apply through their respective school authorities to the Directorate of Education.
