Google, in its series of Doodles to thank the frontline workers amid coronavirus crisis, today thanked teachers and educators who are making sure that children across the world do not miss out on their education.
The doodle thanks teachers and childcare workers with an interesting animation that shows the letter 'e' from the word 'Google' in the attire of a teacher conducting a class virtually while a heart pops and is sent toward the teacher.
"As COVID-19 continues to impact communities around the world, people are coming together to help one another now more than ever. We're launching a Doodle series to recognize and honor many of those on the front lines. Today, we'd like to say: To all teachers and childcare workers, thank you," says the concept note for today's doodle.
Along with the Doodle, Google has also set up a temporary hub of information and tools to help teachers during the coronavirus crisis.
Google is also providing access to its multiple resources to make online teaching easier for educators with suggestions and tutorials to make the exercise a success.
Some of the tools available for teachers include G-Suite, Google Classroom etc. Teachers can also join the Twitter conversation about the challenges faced by them during teaching a class online by following the hashtag 'teachfromhome'.
Educational Institutes across the country have resorted to some form of digital learning to help students continue their studies in the time of lockdown. Delhi University has integrated Google Classroom to its domain to make virtual learning and teaching easier for its students and teachers. Similar steps have been taken by other educational institutes.
