Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) MBA (IB) exam is being held today. While online searches have begun for 'IIFT cut off', proper input is awaited from the candidates who are appearing for the entrance exam today. For its MBA (International Business) six trimester general management programme, IIFT had officially announced the exam date in July, 2018. The entrance exam consists of questions from English Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Analysis.

Data Interpretation is the easiest section this year, say experts at Career Launcher. ‘In comparison to last year's question paper Quantitative Ability and Logical Reasoning were more difficult. General Awareness had the same difficulty level. Over all, cut-off is expected to go down by 5-6 marks. Cut-offs for General 29-31 and 25 for OBC, SC and ST respectively,' they added further.

IIFT admit card was released in November. As of now the official website has the IIFT 2018-2020 score card.

The exam duration is 2 hours and will be held at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.

Last year, the GA section was tougher. According to experts, the English usage was the toughest in last 5 years. It said the command over English usage and Vocabulary was essential to score well in this exam.

Mr Ramnath Kanakadandi from T.I.M.E. said that 6 different sections in the question paper made it mandatory for students to manage their time deftly to be able to solve all sections and get through the sectional cut off this time. For Reading Comprehension section he said that an attempt of 7 to 9 questions was a good attempt and the cut off for this section could be in the range 2.33 to 3. 

For Verbal Ability section he said 10-12 would be a good number of attempts in this section. The cut-off is expected to be around 3-3.5. For Quantitative Ability section 7-9 questions could be a good attempt in QA. The cut-off in this section is expected to be 3-4 marks. For DI section, he said 5-8 could be a good number of attempts, while the cutoff is expected to be around 2-3 marks. 

For Logical Reasoning section he said, a good number of attempts in this section can be considered to be 6- 8 questions while the cut-off is expected to be around 4 to 4.67 marks. For General Awareness, the cut-off in this section last year was 0.82 marks and is expected to be little higher this year - to around 1 to 2 marks. 6-8 questions could be considered to be a good number of attempts in this section. 

Mr.Gautam Bawa of Career Launcher said that the IIFT entrance question paper was tougher than that of last year. The paper was excruciatingly lengthy and some of the questions were agonizingly tricky. Reading Comprehension became extremely tedious and the number of passages increased from 4 to 5. 

He said that out of 114 questions and attempt of 50-52 questions could be termed a good attempt. He also predicted that 38-39 was an achievable score with 31-33 as overall cut off for General category candidates. 

As for sectional cut offs, he predicted the following, 

Data Interpretation - 0.75 marks
Logical Reasoning - 4-4.5 marks
General Knowledge - 0.83-1 marks
Reading Comprehension - 2.5-2.75 marks
Verbal Ability - 3.25-3.5 marks
Quantitative Aptitude - 3-3.25 marks

After the written test candidates, who qualify, will be called for Writing Skills Assessment, Group Discussion and Interview to be held in January/ February 2018 at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
