IISER Admission 2019: Online Application Begins For IAT 2019, Admission Also Through KVPY, JEE Advanced

New Delhi:

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) has begun the online application process for admission to BS and BS-MS dual degree programmes. Bachelor of Science (BS) is a four year course in Engineering and Economics only at IISER Bhopal. BS- MS Dual degree is a five year dual degree program. There are seven IISERs across India - at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati.

The application has started and students can register through the official website. Admission to IISER is through three channels which include KVPY, JEE Advanced exam, and IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) conducted for State and Central board exam toppers. 

Eligibility and Scholarship

Candidates who have passed class 12 (2018 or 2019) and are placed in the top 20 percentile in class 12 board in science streams are eligible for admissions through one of the following channels:

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY): Students with a valid KVPY fellowship for the 2019- 20 academic session are eligible for admission. 

JEE Advanced: Students securing rank up to 10,000 in JEE Advanced exam 2019 are also eligible.

State and Central Boards (SCB): IISER sets a cut off marks for class 12 and students who have marks equal to or above the cut off marks can apply. Students can check the official website for cut off marks. Students who are applying through SCB need to qualify the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). IAT will be an online test and will be conducted in June.

Government of India has some set of rules for reservation of students in Central Institute of Higher education which will be followed. Students selected through IIT-JEE(Advanced) and SCB channel will be eligible for limited number of INSPIRE fellowships as per as the norms by the Department of Science, Govt. of India.
