The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) introduced a new online postgraduate degree course titled 'Business Leadership in the Digital Age' on Wednesday. The course is designed to assist businesses in adapting to the digital era and equipping professionals with specialised leadership skills. Applications for the course are currently being accepted at the institute's official website, with the submission deadline set for October 31, 2023. The application fee is Rs 1,500.
The programme, designed by IIT Kanpur's Department of Economic Sciences, offers a comprehensive understanding of contemporary business dynamics. It is tailored for executives and does not require applicants to have a GATE score. The course will be taught by IIT Kanpur's faculty, who combine academic expertise with industry experience. With live interactive classes exclusively on weekends and self-paced study, it offers flexibility and can be completed in one to three years.

The curriculum of this new programme is structured around 60 credits, which include three core modules, ten technology-focused modules, and a capstone project. Participants in the programme will have access to IIT Kanpur's placement cell, incubation cell, and alumni network, enhancing their career prospects and providing networking opportunities.
Eligibility:
- Applicants should hold either a bachelor's degree (a 4-year program) or a master's degree in the relevant field, with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or a cumulative grade point index (CPI) of 5.5 out of 10.
- They must have at least two years of professional work experience, and they do not need to be currently employed to apply.
- Candidates with relevant work experience will be given priority during the selection process.
Fee structure:
The fees are structured as follows:
- Registration fee: To be paid within one week of acceptance - Rs 40,000.
- Admission fee: To be paid upon completing the enrollment process - Rs 1,60,000.
- Module fee: To be paid at the beginning of each quarter, and it is determined by the number of modules selected (a total of 12 modules) - Rs 5,40,000 (Rs 45,000 per module).
- Quarter fee: To be paid at the beginning of each quarter - Rs 60,000 (Rs 15,000 per quarter).
