Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the last date to report at the institute allotted to a student after first round of NEET PG counselling. The NEET PG 2020 counselling result was announced on April 10, 2020. The Counselling Committee is allowing online reporting for students who will not be able to do so in person. The special provision has been made to enable students take admission during the lockdown.
Earlier, the last date to report to the allotted institute was April 20 which has now been extended to April 24, 2020.
MCC has also requested colleges to 'sympathetically deal with the issues faced by candidates of NEET PG 2020'. Colleges have been instructed to ask only for the essential documents for admission. The list of essential documents is available on the MCC website.
Concession will also be made in case a student is not able to produce one or more than one non-essential documents or pay complete admission fees. The college can take an undertaking from the students stating that the student will deposit the remaining fee or document at the time of physical reporting.
While the first round of NEET PG 2020 counselling will complete with the conclusion of online reporting to the allotted colleges, there has not been a word yet on the commencement of second round of counselling. The dates for second round of NEET PG 2020 counselling will be announced later.
MCC has also clarified on upgradation policy for round two of counselling. A notice on the MCC website says, "All candidates will be automatically considered willing for upgradation to Round-2. However, the candidates will be upgraded subject to exercise of fresh choices in ROund-2 by the candidate as per inter se merit, as and when it is feasible to conduct Round-2 of counselling."
This means that by default, all candidates are included for upgradation in second round of counselling. Students who do not wish to upgrade the seat allotted to them in the first round should not fill fresh choices during Choice Filling of round two.
