New Delhi:

While schools across the country have taken to various digital resources for educating students during the extended lockdown, their safety online remains a valid concern. Addressing the issue, the Minister of State for HRD, Sanjay Dhotre, has asked parents to advise children on best practices to stay safe in the digital world.

"While studying online using web conferencing apps, advise your children to protect themselves from prying eyes in the digital world," the Minister tweeted.

Suggestions to maintain cyber safety while attending virtual classes include using the system (laptop or smartphone being used to study) in a safe and secure manner.

Students should also refrain from discussing any other topic apart from the one mentioned by their teacher during online class session. They must also not divulge any personal information while online.

Online bullying has been a rising concern among parents and teachers and with the rapid shift to digital modes of learning, the risk has only increased.

Since the announcement of the lockdown and its extension, educational boards have started delivering lessons through various modes which includes online classes.

MHRD has been delivering online lessons through its SWAYAM Platform and SWAYAM Prabha channel. For the physical and mental well-being of students, CBSE has also started delivering live fitness class with different experts every day through YouTube channel.
