Tamil Nadu NEET 2017: Counselling For State Quota MBBS, BDS Seats Begins In Chennai

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai has begun the counselling process for the MBBS and BDS seats for the state government quota seats.

New Delhi: The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai has begun the counselling process for the MBBS and BDS seats for the state government quota seats. The counselling process begun yesterday when the counselling was held for Orthopedically Physically Disabled, Children of Ex-Servicemen and selected Sports Personnel. The counselling for all other students who have applied for state quota seats began today from 9:00 am in the morning. The call letters for the counselling are available on the state medical selection committee official website. 

The counselling is being held for 1045 state quota seats. Today the counselling will be held in three session and candidates with the General Ranks 1 to 1209. On the first day of counselling, students with 656 to 368 marks in NEET will be covered. The counselling process will be held till August 30, 2017. The detailed counselling schedule is available on the state medical selection committee official website. 

In the counselling held on August 24, 2017, 20 candidates from the Orthopedically Physically Disabled category, 60 candidates from the Children of Ex-Servicemen category, and 6 candidates from the Sports category were called. Out of the candidates called for the counselling, 6 candidates from children of ex-servicemen category, 3 form the sports category and 5 from the PH category were allotted a seat. 

The counselling is being held at Government Multi-Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar Govt. Estate, Chennai.
