The Directorate of Government Examinations, Telangana has postponed the first and second year D.El.Ed. examinations which were scheduled in April 2020. The exams have been postponed due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The Directorate had scheduled the D.El.Ed. first and second year examinations from April 20 to May 2, 2020. All District Educational Officers, Principals of all Government DIETS, and Private colleges in the state have been informed of the decision.
The Directorate has also postponed the Diploma in Elementary Education (DPSE) examinations for 1st and 2nd year students. The exams were scheduled from April 20 to May 2 as well.
The re-scheduled time table will be notified later on the Directorate's official website, 'bse.telangana.gov.in'.
Meanwhile, board exams across nation have been postponed with education boards working out modalities to hold necessary exams and promote students. CBSE has said that it would not conduct board exams for the remaining papers and for class 12, it will hold exams only for the main subjects. CBSE will, however, hold class 10 exam for students in North East Delhi for already held papers. Telangana Board has not made any such announcements yet.
Higher Educational Institutes have also postponed semester exams and are mulling conducting examinations online. Educational Bodies have also come up with alternative ways to carry on with the teaching activities. These include virtual classrooms, e-learning resources and teaching apps.
