There Is No CBI Probe Against Vice Chancellor, Says AMU Administration
New Delhi: In reference to the stories recently published media on alleged CBI probe against the Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah, the Office of the Registrar, AMU said that there has been no probe constituted against the Vice Chancellor, which is being wrongly carried by few sections of the media. In a press release yesterday, Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association (AMUTA) also welcomed 'the government's action of sending a CBI team to enquire into the complaints made against the Vice Chancellor'.

'It has also been incorrectly reported in the media that a CBI team visited the AMU campus for investigation. However, a single CBI representative visited the Office of the Registrar, AMU on Saturday, February 19, 2017 with certain queries to the submission posted by the CBI in the third week of December, 2016,' said a press release from Aligarh Muslim University.

'The representative wanted few more clarifications to previous queries. We would like to clarify that contrary to the media reports, the visit of the representative had nothing to do with any probe against the Vice Chancellor, which is unfortunately, wrongly quoted', added the statement.

The university administration has also said the reports of CBI enquiry team visiting university on complaints against VC as a canard being spread with nefarious designs to malign the image of the Vice Chancellor of AMU and the Aligarh Muslim University.
