TRIHMS: Medical College In Arunachal To Start Functioning From 2019-20

The proposed Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) is expected to start functioning from 2019-20, Arunachal Pradesh Health & Family Welfare Minister Jomde Kena said today. Initially, the institute will have 50 seats and recruitment of faculty would begin in the financial year 2018-19 he said, adding that the TRIHMS Society would decide about seat reservation for outsiders.
The Health & Family Welfare Minister Jomde Kena said this after Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated a digital X-ray unit and a high-end 4D colour doppler ultrasound machine at Tertiary Cancer Centre (TCC) in Tomo Riba State Hospital (TRSH) at Naharlagun near here.
Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein thanked Samsung for donating a digital X-ray unit and a high-end ultra sonogram worth approximately Rs two crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme.
The state government has sanctioned higher allocation of funds to the health sector in the budget of 2017-18.
