Undergraduate & Postgraduate Admission 2017: List of Fake Universities
New Delhi: The admission season is about to begin for different undergraduate and postgraduate courses! With the rush of getting a seat in the courses, applicants should not ignore checking the Universities. Candidates should have a cautious look on the Universities before applying for admission. Candidates should not take admission in all those Universities which are listed as 'fake' in the UGC circular. As per the University Grants Commission Act 1956, Section 22 (1), a degree can be awarded, only by a University established under a central, State/ provincial Act or an institution deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act or an institution especially empowered by an Act of Parliament to confer the degree.

In addition to this, UGC Act also prohibits an institution from using the word "University" established other than as mentioned above.

Candidates who are all set to look for Universities and colleges offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, must take note of all the self-styled and unrecognized institutions that are functioning in contravention of the UGC Act.

These Universities are not entitled to confer any degree. In the circular the Commission has strictly cautioned not to take admission in these fake Universities.
