UGC has notified a new regulation to assess degrees from foreign educational institutions
The rules also aim at granting of equivalence degrees to academic qualifications obtained from foreign institutions

The rules are called UGC (Recognition and Grant of Equivalence to Qualifications Obtained from Foreign Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2025
The regulations also provide for the establishment of an online portal where applicants can submit requests
