Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's latest Budget includes a plan to upgrade 1,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)

The ITIs will follow a hub-and-spoke model, comprising 200 hubs and 800 spoke institutes.

The total budget for this initiative is Rs 60,000 crore, with Rs 30,000 crore from the central govt, Rs 20,000 crore from states, and Rs 10,000 crore from industry and CSR funding

Programs will include redesigned and new 1-2 year courses, with specialised short-term courses available at hub ITIs
