Heatwave forces school closures, early summer vacations, or schedule changes across India. The list of states where schools have been shut is as follows:

In Jharkhand, schools up to class 8 are closed, with revised timings of 7am to 11.30am for classes 9 to 12

In Bihar's capital Patna, classes for the 10th grade, pre-schools, and Anganwadi centres are restricted from 10.30am to 4pm from May 1 to May 8
