India Launches 3 AI Centres Of Excellence

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has inaugurated three AI Centres of Excellence focused on Healthcare, Agriculture, and Sustainable Cities

He described these centres as key contributors to global public good, emphasising that they will enhance India's position in the international AI landscape

The CoEs aim to bootstrap various initiatives, create new companies, nurture talent, and generate opportunities for aspiring professionals

The AI Centres of Excellence will be spearheaded by leading educational institutions in partnership with industry stakeholders and startups

They will focus on conducting interdisciplinary research, developing innovative applications, and creating scalable solutions

The establishment of these centres was part of the Budget Announcement for 2023-24

The newly announced AI Center of Excellence for Agriculture has already fostered collaborations between institutes and private organisations to tackle critical issues
