The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a ranking methodology adopted by the Ministry of Education to rank institutions of higher education in India

Methodology of Ranking is based on the recommendations by a Core Committee set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)

The methodology is divided on five key criterion

Each criterion has a specific weight: Teaching (30%), Research (30%), Graduation (20%), Outreach (10%), and Perception (10%)
