UP To Soon Have 2 New Private Universities

Uttar Pradesh will soon have two new private universities as the state government has approved a new policy
The move is aimed at boosting private investment in UP's higher education sector
The new universities will be set up in Mathura and Meerut, both in western Uttar Pradesh
The institution that will be set up in Mathura will be called KD University

In Meerut, Vidya University will be set up on 42.755 acres of land

A UP government official said both the private universities will create employment opportunities in the state
The institutes that perform well and feature among top 50 universities will be given additional benefits under the new policy
The government will also provide subsidy on loans for projects up to Rs 5 lakh in microenterprises and service sector

As per the plan, around 10 lakh micro units will be set up in the next 10 years to provide financial assistance
