BJP leaders sit on a dharna against AAP
New Delhi:
Taking a leaf out of Aam Aadmi Party's book, the BJP took to the streets to protest against what it calls AAP's unkept and misleading promises.
Leaders from the party including state president Vijay Goel, legislative party leader Dr. Harsh Vardhan and MLAs sat on a 'dharna' at jantar mantar this morning.
"We will expose AAP. They made so many promises, but even after 49 days in power they haven't been able to keep them. They claim to have done a lot of work on the power, water front but that's nothing but misleading the people of Delhi," Mr Goel said.
Yesterday, a leader from AAP quoted an international agency to say that corruption fell during AAP's rule, but Amnesty International (the international agency quoted by AAP leader) put out a press release denying they ever held such a survey. That's how truthful this party is," he added.
Among the AAP's 'untruths' listed by the BJP is Mr Kejriwal's party promising it won't take support from either Congress or the BJP.
The BJP says AAP had promised to send former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to jail on corruption charges within 15 days of coming to power. But Mr Kejriwal later asked Dr Harsh Vardhan to provide supporting documents to take action, the BJP alleges.
The BJP plans to take its allegations to the people through its rallies and door-to-door campaigns to expose what it calls the AAP's double speak.
