Nagaon:
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today said that unlike his party, Opposition BJP believes in dividing people. (India Votes 2014: full coverage)
"Opposition has an ideology of dividing people by instigating them to fight. They make Hindus fight with Muslims, people of Maharashtra fight with people in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. They only talk about anger. This nation wouldn't be able to move forward like this," Mr Gandhi said while addressing an election rally in Nagaon.
"Our party, on the other hand, believes that India is everyone's country, not of any one religion or caste. We believe in taking everyone along on the path of development. Everybody should feel that this is my country, this is my place and I will take it forward with myself," he added.
"The Congress party and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi unite people who belong to different castes and religions. This is our politics," the Congress vice-president added.
