DMK allots two more seats to allies for Lok Sabha polls

Chennai: Firming up seat-sharing parleys, the DMK today allotted a seat each to alliance partners Indian Union Muslim League, Puthiya Tamizhagam  and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi.

While K Krishnaswamy-led PT has been allotted Tenkasi seat, the MMK will contest from Mayiladuthurai constituency.

An official announcement on the constituency that would be allotted to IUML is expected later. "We have been allotted one seat," IUML state president Prof K N Khader Mohideen said earlier.

Seat-sharing talks for the Lok Sabha polls were being held between the DMK and its allies at the former's party headquarters Anna Arivalayam in Chennai.

So far, the seat distribution exercise has been completed as with regards to the IUML, PT and MMK.

DMK is also holding talks with long-time ally VCK.

After today's discussions, parleys will continue tomorrow also, VCK founder and Lok Sabha MP, Thol. Thirumavalavan said.
