Chennai:
DMK chief M Karunanidhi will begin electioneering for the Lok Sabha polls from Chennai on March 26 and not from Coimbatore on April 5 as scheduled earlier.
Mr Karunanidhi will launch campaign on Wednesday, canvassing votes for his party's candidates for three constituencies -- former Union minister Dayanidhi Maran (Chennai Central), T K S Elangovan (Chennai South) and R Girirajan (Chennai North) -- in Chepauk, a party release said.
However, the release did not mention any reason behind the rescheduling of campaigning of the 90-year-old patriarch.
While party general secretary K Anbazhagan would commence campaigning from March 30, Rajya Sabha MP and Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi would start her electioneering from April 5, the release said.
Actors 'Vaagai' Sekar and Khushboo Sundar are also expected to hit the trail to seek support from the electorate for the 'Rising Sun' (DMK symbol).
